Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work An Italianate landscape with a thunderstorm by Charles Francois Grenier de Lacroix for USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,411.47). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Francois Grenier de Lacroix achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View Of A Mediterranean Seaport At Dusk, With Fishermen And Elegant Figures Gathered Along The Harbor As A Ship Pulls In in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 516,500.00 (€ 478,506.58).
