Sold at the upper estimate price
In September 2013 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work Shipping In A French Port At Dusk by Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg. The auction ended at the price of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,953.45), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Alpine Village, which sold at auction in October 2002 for USD 28,680.00 (€ 29,025.40).
