In April 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Pink Roses On A Table by Charles Ethan Porter for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,669.36). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Charles Ethan Porter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thistles in January this year with an auction result of USD 47,880.00 (€ 44,096.52).
