In May 2001 Christies in New York held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART, which included the work A Shepherdess with her Flock near a Stream by Charles Émile Jacque. The price achieved of USD 105,000.00 (€ 124,186.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Shepherdess with her Flock near a Stream is the most expensive artwork by Charles Émile Jacque that we have observed at auctions so far.
