This work of art by Charles Edward Holloway could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH & CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work Wharf buildings by the Thames changed hands for GBP 293.75 (€ 492.48) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Edward Holloway - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On the Wandle, which sold at auction in September 2005 for GBP 840.00 (€ 1,232.76).
