Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work "Dr Manette And Lucie With Charles Darnay" by Charles Edmund Brock for GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,083.19). This price was achieved in the auction The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Charles Edmund Brock have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2012 by the work "Mr Bumble Walked On With Long Strides... Little Oliver Firmly Grasping His Gold Laced Cuff Trotted Beside Him." at GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,699.83).
