This artwork by Charles Despiau achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2011. In the Impressionist & Modern Art, Including Russian and Latin American Art auction, the work Seated Woman sold for USD 40,625.00 (€ 28,643.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Despiau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Printemps. 1923., which sold at auction in December 2007 for CHF 108,000.00 (€ 65,274.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Despiau erzielte im März 2011 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art, Including Russian and Latin American Art wurde die Arbeit Seated Woman für USD 40.625,00 (€ 28.643,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Despiau mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Printemps. 1923. beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für CHF 108.000,00 (€ 65.274,81) versteigert wurde.
