Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Wise and Foolish Virgins by Charles de Sousy Ricketts was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,566.86). Other works by Charles de Sousy Ricketts have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2005 by the work Chimeras (Chacun Porte Sa Chimère) at GBP 30,000.00 (€ 44,073.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Wise and Foolish Virgins von Charles de Sousy Ricketts im Juli 2013 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.566,86) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Charles de Sousy Ricketts wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2005 die Arbeit Chimeras (Chacun Porte Sa Chimère) mit GBP 30.000,00 (€ 44.073,79).
