The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,000.00 (€ 38,305.37), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Collins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ornamental Birds In A Landscape, A Set Of Three, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 89,150.00 (€ 137,894.86).

Die Arbeit Still life with a hare, mallard, pheasant, grouse, wood pigeon, kingfisher and a hunting rifle in a landscape; and Still life with a mallard, duck and game birds with a hunting rifle in a landscape von Charles Collins wurde im Januar 2012 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings Part II bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 38.305,37) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Collins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ornamental Birds In A Landscape, A Set Of Three beobachtet, die im Juni 2002 für GBP 89.150,00 (€ 137.894,86) versteigert wurde.
