Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charles Collins achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2014. In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work Eight Watercolours Of Birds sold for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,401.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Collins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ornamental Birds In A Landscape, A Set Of Three in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 89,150.00 (€ 137,894.86).
