Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work A court jester with a captive audience by Charles Cattermole for GBP 240.00 (€ 358.58). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Watercolours at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Cattermole - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Royalist cavalry on the road, which sold at auction in March 2001 for GBP 528.75 (€ 853.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A court jester with a captive audience von Charles Cattermole für GBP 240,00 (€ 358,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 400,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Cattermole mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Royalist cavalry on the road beobachtet, die im März 2001 für GBP 528,75 (€ 853,19) versteigert wurde.
