Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Luna Park and Griffin Lights, c.1951 by Charles Blackman was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in November last year. The price achieved of AUD 18,450.00 (€ 12,005.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Blackman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alice Amongst Flowers in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 356,500.00 (€ 484,423.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Luna Park and Griffin Lights, c.1951 von Charles Blackman kam im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Sydney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 18.450,00 (€ 12.005,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Blackman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alice Amongst Flowers im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 356.500,00 (€ 484.423,03).
