Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Luna Park and Griffin Lights, c.1951 by Charles Blackman was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in November last year. The price achieved of AUD 18,450.00 (€ 12,005.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Blackman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alice Amongst Flowers in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 356,500.00 (€ 484,423.03).
