Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Children in the Woods, c.1980 by Charles Blackman was auctioned at Bonhams in Sidney in August last year. The price achieved of AUD 98,400.00 (€ 67,125.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Blackman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Alice Amongst Flowers in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 356,500.00 (€ 484,423.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Children in the Woods, c.1980 von Charles Blackman kam im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Sidney zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 98.400,00 (€ 67.125,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Blackman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Alice Amongst Flowers im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 356.500,00 (€ 484.423,03).
