Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Afternoon Idyll, 1966 by Charles Blackman. The price achieved of AUD 27,060.00 (€ 23,974.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 22,000.00 – 32,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Blackman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Alice Amongst Flowers in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 356,500.00 (€ 484,423.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Afternoon Idyll, 1966 von Charles Blackman zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 27.060,00 (€ 23.974,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 22.000,00 – 32.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Blackman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Alice Amongst Flowers im Dezember 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 356.500,00 (€ 484.423,03).
