Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Three Turbanned Orientals, Seen From Behind by Charles Bargue was worth GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,455.81) to a buyer in July 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Bargue - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le jeu d'échecs, which sold at auction in January 2009 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,146.02).

Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection bei Sothebys in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 um ein Vielfaches.
