Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Ansdell Williams could be acquired at Christies in New York in December 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work Mutual Honors at Tilsit or The Monkey the Bear and the Eagle changed hands for USD 11.95 (€ 8.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100.00 – 200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ansdell Williams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Child and Champion of Jacobinism... in December 2004 with an auction result of USD 239.00 (€ 176.54).
