Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Trompe l'Oeil with Bills, Watch and Cigarette by Charles Alfred Meurer. The price achieved of USD 3,525.00 (€ 3,919.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Alfred Meurer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Money, Pipe and Letters in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 22,705.00 (€ 18,471.36).
