Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2001 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, Furniture, Folk Art and Decorative Art, which included the work Still Life of a Pipe, Spectacles, Pack of Cigarettes, Matches, Dollar Bill, and Knife by Charles Alfred Meurer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,055.00 (€ 3,282.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Alfred Meurer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Money, Pipe and Letters in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 22,705.00 (€ 18,471.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Furniture, Folk Art and Decorative Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life of a Pipe, Spectacles, Pack of Cigarettes, Matches, Dollar Bill, and Knife von Charles Alfred Meurer zur Versteigerung kam.
