The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,200.00 (€ 10,134.13), 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles A. Fries - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eucalyptus Grove - Balboa Park before the Exposition, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 29,062.50 (€ 25,748.65).
