In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Back Country by Charles A. Fries. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,840.00 (€ 3,542.76), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles A. Fries have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eucalyptus Grove - Balboa Park before the Exposition in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 29,062.50 (€ 25,748.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Back Country von Charles A. Fries zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.840,00 (€ 3.542,76) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles A. Fries auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Eucalyptus Grove - Balboa Park before the Exposition im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 29.062,50 (€ 25.748,65).
