In the California Art auction, the work Early Morning, Laguna Mountains sold for USD 12,750.00 (€ 12,351.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles A. Fries - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eucalyptus Grove - Balboa Park before the Exposition, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 29,062.50 (€ 25,748.65).
