In August last year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Desert Mountain Home by Charles A. Fries. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,750.00 (€ 12,667.66), 59% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles A. Fries - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eucalyptus Grove - Balboa Park before the Exposition, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 29,062.50 (€ 25,748.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Desert Mountain Home von Charles A. Fries zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 12.750,00 (€ 12.667,66) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles A. Fries mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eucalyptus Grove - Balboa Park before the Exposition beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 29.062,50 (€ 25.748,65) versteigert wurde.
