FIRST EDITION. A FINE COPY IN THE ORIGINAL SLIPCASE. The last volume in Chargesheimer's Cologne chronicle, 'a photographer's personal project, probably generated by Chargesheimer's fascination with the deserted early morning city'. The Photobook, vol. I, p. 223.

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Köln 5 Uhr 30 - Cologne 5:30. Cologne: DuMont Schauberg, 1970. by Chargesheimer was sold in the Photobooks auction at Christies in London in May 2010. It achieved a price of GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,391.32), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. Admittedly, works by Chargesheimer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ohne Titel in May 2019 with an auction result of EUR 6,448.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Köln 5 Uhr 30 - Cologne 5:30. Cologne: DuMont Schauberg, 1970. von Chargesheimer wurde im Mai 2010 in der Auktion Photobooks bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.187,50 (€ 1.391,32) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chargesheimer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ohne Titel im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 6.448,00.
