The result of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,985.07) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cesare Uva - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Girls watching Vesuvius erupt at the Bay of Naples; and A boy in a hay cart drawn by longhorn cattle, Vesuvius beyond, which sold at auction in October 2011 for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,943.86).
