Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work Spanish beauty by Cesare Lapini was auctioned at Il Ponte in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 7,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cesare Lapini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cupid and Psyche in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 300,000.00 (€ 259,695.29).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als die Arbeit Spanish beauty von Cesare Lapini im Oktober 2015 bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 7.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 6.000,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cesare Lapini erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cupid and Psyche im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 300.000,00 (€ 259.695,29).
