Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the Quays 38 x 45 cm. (14 7/8 x 17 5/8 in.) by Cecil King was auctioned at Bonhams in Dublin in November this year. It changed hands for a price of EUR 768.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cecil King achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Intrusion 1972 in October 2006 with an auction result of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,239.71).

Die Arbeit On the Quays 38 x 45 cm. (14 7/8 x 17 5/8 in.) von Cecil King kam im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Dublin zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 768,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cecil King erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Intrusion 1972 im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 15.239,71).
