Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work The Secret by Cecil Collins. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 45,824.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cecil Collins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Greeting, which sold at auction in June 2015 for GBP 70,000.00 (€ 98,699.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Secret von Cecil Collins zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 45.824,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Cecil Collins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Greeting beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für GBP 70.000,00 (€ 98.699,12) versteigert wurde.
