Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Bride by Cecil Collins was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 17,624.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Cecil Collins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Greeting in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 70,000.00 (€ 98,699.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Bride von Cecil Collins kam im Juni 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 17.624,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cecil Collins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Greeting im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 70.000,00 (€ 98.699,12).
