This artwork by Cathy Josefowitz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Zurich in October 2017. In the Swiss Art auction, the work Chaise rouge couchée, 1996 sold for CHF 12,500.00 (€ 10,765.80) - well above the upper estimate of CHF 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cathy Josefowitz; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in April 2018 with the realized price of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,524.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cathy Josefowitz erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Christies in Zürich einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Swiss Art wurde die Arbeit Chaise rouge couchée, 1996 für CHF 12.500,00 (€ 10.765,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CHF 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Cathy Josefowitz; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im April 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.524,36).
