This price was achieved in the auction The Robert Devereux Collection of Post-War British Art in aid of the African Arts Trust, Sale 3 at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Catherine Goodman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Giving Tree sold at auction in October this year with the realized price of GBP 8,820.00 (€ 10,127.81).
