Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Caspar David Friedrich achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2018. In the Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours auction, the work A Gothic brick building and two studies of trees sold for GBP 212,500.00 (€ 238,259.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Caspar David Friedrich achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work German landschaft Mit Gebirgsee, Morgen (Landscape With Mountain Lake, Morning) in December 2018 with an auction result of GBP 2,530,000.00 (€ 2,818,644.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Caspar David Friedrich erzielte im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours wurde die Arbeit A Gothic brick building and two studies of trees für GBP 212.500,00 (€ 238.259,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Caspar David Friedrich erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit German landschaft Mit Gebirgsee, Morgen (Landscape With Mountain Lake, Morning) im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.530.000,00 (€ 2.818.644,38).
