Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Red Shift 5 by Carroll Dunham was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,217.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carroll Dunham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Integrated Painting Seven in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 591,000.00 (€ 496,722.14).
