Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Ella on silk) by Carrie Mae Weems was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2020. The price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,033.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carrie Mae Weems achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kitchen Table Series in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 237,500.00 (€ 215,536.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Ella on silk) von Carrie Mae Weems kam im Juni 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.033,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carrie Mae Weems erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kitchen Table Series im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 237.500,00 (€ 215.536,80).
