Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Bucecui La Sinaia', Paysage De Roumanie, Vers 1855 by Carol Popp de Szathmari was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in November 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carol Popp de Szathmari have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Haremsszene in einer Flusslandschaft. in March 2014 with an auction result of CHF 7,800.00 (€ 6,404.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Bucecui La Sinaia', Paysage De Roumanie, Vers 1855 von Carol Popp de Szathmari im November 2008 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.000,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carol Popp de Szathmari auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Haremsszene in einer Flusslandschaft. im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 7.800,00 (€ 6.404,41).
