Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work Salome With The Head Of Saint John The Baptist by Carlo Sellitto. The price achieved of USD 75,600.00 (€ 61,997.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlo Sellitto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cristo lava i piedi agli Apostoli, which sold at auction in December 2003 for EUR 183,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Salome With The Head Of Saint John The Baptist von Carlo Sellitto zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 61.997,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Carlo Sellitto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cristo lava i piedi agli Apostoli beobachtet, die im Dezember 2003 für EUR 183.800,00 versteigert wurde.
