mezzotint printed in colours, circa 1800, on laid paper, without watermark, a very good impression of this extremely rare print, published by the Società Calcografica, Florence, the colours printed by Gaetano Calamandrei (according to the engraved inscription at lower right), with small margins, a short tear in the lower left margin, two pinholes in the upper margin, otherwise in good condition

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Antonio Niccolai with Camera Obscura (?) by Carlo Lasinio was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 625.00 (€ 738.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlo Lasinio achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Collection of Eighty-Four Artists' Self-Portraits (After Various Artists) in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,445.19).

Die Arbeit Portrait of Antonio Niccolai with Camera Obscura (?) von Carlo Lasinio kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 738,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlo Lasinio erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Collection of Eighty-Four Artists' Self-Portraits (After Various Artists) im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.445,19).
