Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carl Wuermer could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Winter Creek changed hands for USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,305.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Wuermer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Early Spring Morning, No. 597, which sold at auction in June 2016 for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,463.74).
