Konstföreningen (The Art Association), Stockholm, 1881 (acquired directly from the artist for SEK 400); given away as a prize to publisher Isidor Adolf Heman Bonnier in the association's art lottery in December 1881; by descent to his widow Mrs. Alice Rosalie Bonnier, née Amigo, Stockholm (with her until, at least, 1932); the collections of Emil Hultmark Ph. D. , Sjögestabro; his daughter Carna Moselius; subsequently by descent within the family until 2008.

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carl Skånberg could be acquired at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Winter Sale auction, the work "Torg i Taormina" (Town square in Taormina) changed hands for SEK 50,000.00 (€ 4,979.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of SEK 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Skånberg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Blommande fruktträd, Barbizon", which sold at auction in November 2009 for SEK 125,000.00 (€ 11,921.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carl Skånberg konnte im Dezember 2020 bei Bukowski in Stockholm für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Winter Sale wechselte die Arbeit "Torg i Taormina" (Town square in Taormina) für SEK 50.000,00 (€ 4.979,56) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von SEK 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Skånberg mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "Blommande fruktträd, Barbizon" beobachtet, die im November 2009 für SEK 125.000,00 (€ 11.921,44) versteigert wurde.
