Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work German an Extensive Landscape In Bavaria Or The Salzkammergut by Carl Rottmann. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,637.44) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carl Rottmann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work AULIS., which sold at auction in December 2008 for EUR 110,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit German an Extensive Landscape In Bavaria Or The Salzkammergut von Carl Rottmann zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.637,44) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carl Rottmann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit AULIS. beobachtet, die im Dezember 2008 für EUR 110.000,00 versteigert wurde.
