It achieved a price of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,246.70), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl Rottmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work AULIS. in December 2008 with an auction result of EUR 110,000.00.

Die Arbeit An extensive landscape with the roman amphitheater at Pula von Carl Rottmann wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.246,70) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carl Rottmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit AULIS. im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 110.000,00.
