Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carl August Lebschée could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Noble and Private Collections auction, the work Overgrown ruins of the tower at Eisenberg, Tirol changed hands for EUR 312.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carl August Lebschée achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sun-dappled steps; and An entrance to an estate in March 2000 with an auction result of USD 3,450.00 (€ 3,603.51).
