Admittedly, works by Cao Xiuxian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Running Script Calligraphy in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 47,105.02).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script von Cao Xiuxian kam im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.564,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cao Xiuxian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Running Script Calligraphy im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 47.105,02).
