Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cao Rulin achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2018. In the Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy In Running Script sold for HKD 11,800.00 (€ 1,328.70) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cao Rulin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Letter to Zhang Ziqi sold at auction in December 2021 with the realized price of HKD 17,850.00 (€ 2,021.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cao Rulin erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script für HKD 11.800,00 (€ 1.328,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Cao Rulin; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Letter to Zhang Ziqi im Dezember 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 17.850,00 (€ 2.021,89).
