Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Outside Mullingar, Early Morning by Camille Souter was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 9,562.50 (€ 10,999.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Camille Souter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The two old Turnips, which sold at auction in May 2002 for GBP 21,510.00 (€ 33,684.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Outside Mullingar, Early Morning von Camille Souter wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.562,50 (€ 10.999,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Camille Souter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The two old Turnips beobachtet, die im Mai 2002 für GBP 21.510,00 (€ 33.684,95) versteigert wurde.
