Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cai Yuanpei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu sold for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 30,013.62) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cai Yuanpei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script, which sold at auction in November 2018 for HKD 875,000.00 (€ 98,759.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cai Yuanpei erzielte im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu für HKD 325.000,00 (€ 30.013,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cai Yuanpei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script beobachtet, die im November 2018 für HKD 875.000,00 (€ 98.759,16) versteigert wurde.
