Upper estimate price exceeded by 37 %.
The work Golden Yuan Bills-Numinous Talismans by Cai Guo-Qiang was sold in the Contemporary Art | Hong Kong auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in September 2020. It achieved a price of HKD 47,880.00 (€ 5,270.97), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cai Guo-Qiang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Project For Extraterrestrials No.10, Project To Extend The Great Wall Of China in October 2007 with an auction result of HKD 20,487,500.00 (€ 1,826,712.40).
