The work Alligators (Two Works) by Cai Guo-Qiang was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2021. It achieved a price of USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,044.96), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 58%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cai Guo-Qiang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Project For Extraterrestrials No.10, Project To Extend The Great Wall Of China in October 2007 with an auction result of HKD 20,487,500.00 (€ 1,826,712.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Alligators (Two Works) von Cai Guo-Qiang kam im März 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.044,96) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 58%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cai Guo-Qiang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Project For Extraterrestrials No.10, Project To Extend The Great Wall Of China im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 20.487.500,00 (€ 1.826.712,40).
