This artwork by Cai Daoxian achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy sold for HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,418.65) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. This high result makes Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy the most expensive artwork by Cai Daoxian that we have observed at auctions so far.
