Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Poem in Running Script Calligraphy by Cai Daoxian was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,087.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cai Daoxian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy, which sold at auction in May 2017 for HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,418.65).

Die Arbeit Poem in Running Script Calligraphy von Cai Daoxian wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 3.087,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Cai Daoxian mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Running-Cursive Script Calligraphy beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für HKD 100.000,00 (€ 11.418,65) versteigert wurde.
