Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale), which included the work Self-Protrait as a Man - Long VIII by Byen Ung-Pil. The price achieved of HKD 118,750.00 (€ 11,005.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Byen Ung-Pil - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Self Portrait, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 295,500.00 (€ 24,327.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self-Protrait as a Man - Long VIII von Byen Ung-Pil zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 118.750,00 (€ 11.005,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Byen Ung-Pil mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Self Portrait beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 295.500,00 (€ 24.327,47) versteigert wurde.
